We just returned from Oregon and saw such beautiful

lavender on the Hood River.

It was a highlight of the trip to watch the lavender blowing in the wind

with the mountains in the background.

And the smell!  Oh my.

This is my first painting from the trip.

walk in Beaufort, NC.

Baby Chucks

These tiny Chuck Taylors were a Christmas gift for our 

grand daughter who was born just 3 days ago.

They remind me of her dad, who had Chucks in

every color as a boy.

Painting this brought me so much happiness,

as I reminisced her dad on his riding toys 

and using the rubber tips for the brakes.

So, now a new chapter begins with so much love

for this tiny, newborn little girl.

I love this old church that is in the NC mountains.

St. John's Episcopal Church in Valle Crucis, NC.

It sits on a hillside down a curvy, country road.  

It was founded in 1862, and they still hold services there 

during the summer months.

I have been reflecting on all the wonderful things that happened

in our family during 2017.  We gained a son-in-law, 

inheriting numerous Italian cousins,

spent two weeks traveling in France,  enjoyed several trips to the beach

and the mountains, and now have a grand daughter arriving in March 2018.

I was thrilled to have hard woods installed in my home studio. 

I am so happy just stepping into the new work space and have set goals for my

art in the new year.  I will paint every day in January, no matter what.

I will also post on my blog more often.

So lucky and blessed to have 2 different local shops selling my work.

Life is good.  Love painting and sharing 

with others to spread a little sunshine.

I wanted to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!

I am so blessed that this has been a wonderful year for our family.

Our daughter got married, and now our son and his wife are expecting!  

Our family is growing and we are so happy.

I hope to post more in 2018. I am showing my work in two

different shops, so this keeps me busy and encourages me to paint more.

This summer is my first experience being part of a CSA,

Community Supported Agriculture.

Every other week I go to visit my friend, Jennifer Farlow,

at her beautiful farm and pick up my box of 

fresh produce.  It is always a surprise and a joy to 

see what she has gathered for us each time.  

This week, as soon as I saw the beautiful colors, 

I just knew I had to paint them!  

I carefully laid them out and drew them on the canvas that night,

so I could paint first thing in the morning.

The colors are amazing, and to think they were grown locally without

any chemicals or pesticides.  Jennifer and her husband have the 

best assistants: their 2 sweet children.

I came upon this sweet little house while strolling the streets of

Auvers-sur-Oise not far from Paris.

This is the village where Vincent van Gogh lived and painted

before his death in 1890.

It was fascinating to learn so much about the misunderstood

artist, and to walk where he lived and painted.

I will be sharing more paintings from our trip to France.

Happy Tuesday! How can it be the last week of July already? I wanted to share this floral oil painting for the July Free Giveaway. I am feeling very blessed as I post this week. Just last week, I was asked to paint something special for a new bride, sold a painting to a sweet girl who recently lost her husband and wanted to put some "happy" in her home, sold a piece to another dear girl involved in a fundraiser for women fighting cancer, and taught a private lesson to another sweetie. All this in just one week and all new friends that found me on Facebook. It warms my heart to hear these stories and be a part of something special. Who knew when I started this journey how many wonderful people I would meet along the way? Thank you for being part of this adventure! This is the bouquet my daughter had delivered for Mother's Day last year.

She was living in New York at the time, and it made my day

to think that she remembered how I love fresh flowers.

I knew instantly I would be painting them.

The light shining through the window gave them a glow.

The JH Adams Inn in High Point, North Carolina

was the setting for our son and his beautiful brides' wedding last weekend.

It is a beautiful Inn that is located in uptown High Point.

It was built in 1918.

A must see if you are in the area.

We framed the painting inside a white mat that the guests 

signed during cocktail hour and the reception.

Happy Easter!

Spring has sprung, and hopefully here to stay.

This is my favorite time of year as buds emerge and things begin to turn green again.

I had to go buy a few flowers today, even though it's too early to put them outside just yet.

Soon, our yard will be filled with various shades of red, pink, yellow and purple.

It is so fun to observe the daily, subtle changes.

This painting is gallery wrapped, so it looks good unframed.
