Happy Tuesday! How can it be the last week of July already? I wanted to share this floral oil painting for the July Free Giveaway. I am feeling very blessed as I post this week. Just last week, I was asked to paint something special for a new bride, sold a painting to a sweet girl who recently lost her husband and wanted to put some "happy" in her home, sold a piece to another dear girl involved in a fundraiser for women fighting cancer, and taught a private lesson to another sweetie. All this in just one week and all new friends that found me on Facebook. It warms my heart to hear these stories and be a part of something special. Who knew when I started this journey how many wonderful people I would meet along the way? Thank you for being part of this adventure! I started this painting at a Community Garden event last Saturday.

I got busy visiting with friends and didn't complete it, so

I finished it in the studio yesterday.

I love clipping these beautiful flowers and bringing them inside.

Thought they would look good in a blue ball jar.

I decided to use this for my Facebook Free Give Away 

for the month of June.  Each month I have a drawing for a painting.

I got the idea from another artist's blog, and I loved it!

I have made so many new friends this way.

I love painting these fat little guys.

I normaly use oils, but tried acrylics today just to compare texture.

I love the buttery texture of oil paint,

but can appreciate the quick drying time for the acrylics.

This weekend I am participating in a Garden Event, 

painting flowers and vegetables in the garden.

Should be lots of fun!

This is the bouquet my daughter had delivered for Mother's Day last year.

She was living in New York at the time, and it made my day

to think that she remembered how I love fresh flowers.

I knew instantly I would be painting them.

The light shining through the window gave them a glow.

The JH Adams Inn in High Point, North Carolina

was the setting for our son and his beautiful brides' wedding last weekend.

It is a beautiful Inn that is located in uptown High Point.

It was built in 1918.

A must see if you are in the area.

We framed the painting inside a white mat that the guests 

signed during cocktail hour and the reception.

Happy Easter!

Spring has sprung, and hopefully here to stay.

This is my favorite time of year as buds emerge and things begin to turn green again.

I had to go buy a few flowers today, even though it's too early to put them outside just yet.

Soon, our yard will be filled with various shades of red, pink, yellow and purple.

It is so fun to observe the daily, subtle changes.

This painting is gallery wrapped, so it looks good unframed.

I have been painting and fulfilling commissions lately.

I was happy to spend some time yesterday at the easel painting one of my favorite things, flowers.

They just make me so happy!

It appears that spring is finally here, as the days are getting longer and warmer.

I am happy to see lots of little green leaves peeping through the mulch, 

waking up after the winter months.

Before you know it, there will be lots of colorful blooms all around.

I love cutting them and filling the house with tiny vases.
